The Sun & Moon are Driving Development!
7 Ways to Ride the Increase of Solar and Lunar Waves
Have you noticed wild daily swings in your energy? Sudden bursts of creativity to periods when you want to be silent and longing for or being in nature?
This year, the Sun is at the peak of an 11-year, 22-year, and maybe even 250-year cycle of increased magnetic, radio, ultraviolet, and x-ray energy — the Yogis call all these energies Prana. Learn more about our Sun’s cycles on Britannica.
For millennia, the moon, in a dance with the Earth and Sun, pushes and pulls and sweeps currents of the Sun’s energy across the planet, sometimes concentrating this Prana onto areas of the globe and other times forming voids of the Sun’s magnetism allowing for more Lunar and cosmic energies to concentrate.
The movement of the Sun and Moon impacts all of us. Women’s fertility cycle is bound to the 28-day cycle of the moon, which has ancient origins from a time when tides were vital for life.
Even as the moon’s orbit has lengthened from making a cycle in only a few days thousands of millennia ago to a complete orbit to today’s moon month of 28 days, females worldwide through time and countless species have stayed in sync.
This natural alignment is a direct Pranic link to the Divine Feminine and the creative potential of the Universe.
The dance of the Sun and Moon consists of building and contracting phases, each with corresponding energy peaks. The waxing or building moon culminates with the full moon, while the waning or declining moon disappears at the New Moon.
Waxing Moon: The moon at this time is more often observed at night, after sunset, and shows more and more of its lit side each day. It transforms from a crescent sliver growing until the moon’s full face climbs in the East as the Sun sinks in the West.
The energy of waxing is a time of filling, expanding, and ripening.
When the moon is opposite the Sun relative to the Earth, it is a Full Moon; it often passes through the Earth’s shadow, partially or entirely, during a Lunar Eclipse.
Ride the Wave Practice — Rising Moon Manifestation
The waxing phase is the best time to visualize and draw manifestation into your life. When you first see that slender crescent moon, mold a wish into a visual and emotional scenario. You must see what this manifestation will feel like now, not later. Tomorrow never comes, so live your wish now in your imagination.
Each day, while the moon is a crescent, gaze upon it each evening and feel your wish in your mind’s eye; make it as accurate as you can.
As the moon passes the half or so-called Quarter Moon, open your heart and mind and give the wish to the moon after sunset. Send your desire on high with the air to the moon as it climbs in the sky.
You can repeat this process for seven days until the moon is full. Send your wish each evening, with increasing intensity, as if it has already manifested, culminating with the most intensity and confidence of manifesting your desire with the full moon.
Then, as the moon disappears from the night and wanes back to a crescent, know that the wish is with the moon and do not think or wonder about it all. Let it go, the thought, the desire, everything, let it vanish, leave it to the moon to nurture it.
Allow the moon to silently carry your wish into the darkness of the new moon, and know that with the moon’s birth anew in the next cycle, your wish will manifest when the alignment with the Universe and you is just ripe.
Be aware that manifesting your desires may not happen overnight; it may take many lunar cycles. However, you can be confident that manifesting a wish this way will perfectly align with you and everything around you.
As the Moon Receeds
Warning Moon: After the full moon, the moon decreases in size from the other side of the moon, reversing the waxing day by day to a crescent moon in the dark early morning sky. For three days, the moon disappears, only to reappear in the evening sky.
The moon passes the Sun during these three days, and if its position is just right, a small part of the Earth will experience a Solar Eclipse as the moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun.
Ride the Wave Practice — Wanning Moon Release
When you have trouble letting go of something or when you’ve just experienced a significant loss, this waning moon practice will allow much of the pain and grief you may be feeling to wash away and bring about a resolution.
On the full moon, write down on a piece of paper that you will burn, in your own words, with all the emotion and pain you feel, exactly what you have lost or want to let go of.
Be sure to write down in all honesty exactly how you feel, let your tears and pain run onto the paper as does the ink with which you write, and keep writing until everything you could write about is all written.
With a flashlight, a lighter, and a metal bowl, sit outside as the bright full moon rises; as it climbs, read to the moon what you wrote or recite what you wrote to the round moon.
Then take a deep breath, your lighter in hand, and burn what you wrote.
As it burns, as the paper dissolves, know that the embers are rising to the moon. Let the moon take your pain, struggles, and loss into its pregnant and round form.
For the next seven days until the new moon, each evening before bed, think about and again release your pain, but with each night, as the loss releases, let the pain associated be less and less.
Until on the eighth night, entirely let the moon take the loss. Trust the moon will return the loss to you in a wholly new creation; on the next cycle, a new manifestation, like a phoenix, will arise from the ashes.
What the moon brings is always fulfilling and unpredictable; your intuition will recognize it immediately.

HATHA & SWARA YOGA
Hatha हठ योग — “Sun” & “Moon” — Hatha is a Sanskrit word derived from two smaller words: Ha, meaning “sun,” and Tha, meaning “moon.” these roots are also similar to “willful” or “forceful.” YOGA योग — is from the root Sanskrit word “Yuj” meaning Union or Yoke. So, in meaning, Hatha Yoga unifies the Sun and Moon or your masculine and feminine aspects by an act of the will. In other words, Purposeful action.
The willful or forceful root word supports Yoga as an active, deliberate, energetic practice.
With the Sun so active now, why not practice the most potent yogic techniques to absorb the Sun’s energy? A “moon” meditation focusing on feminine energy is best coupled with this practice in the evening for a balanced approach.
Ride the Wave Practice — The Morning Sun: YOGA (Union)
Step One HATHA: Learn and practice these Hatha Yoga poses called the “Sun Salutation” daily with the rising Sun. Learn about the sequence and theory here.
Repeat Step One: 1,3 or 5 times.
Step Two SWARA Breath and “AUM”: Facing the rising Sun (East), Place your hands in the prayer position in front of you as you breathe in, open them up as if your arms and hands are an opening flower, and as you do so, feel a warming golden light travel up from your solar plexus up to your head and rest at the center of your forehead.
To make it even more potent, engage in the Horse Mudra. Learn how to engage this here.
As you exhale, recite the sound “AUM,” bringing your hands together; as you do so, visualize an electrifying violet light descending all around you and allow your body to relax. Learn how to chant A.U.M here.
Repeat Step Two: 3, 6, 9, 12, or 24 times.
Step Three SILENCE: After three, six, or more rounds (depending on your time), sit silently.
Silence means bringing awareness to your breath and allowing your mind’s voice, thoughts, emotions, and feelings to become silent. Adjust your posture if you have pain or discomfort anywhere; even lying down is OK!
Now, breathe. If you start to think or dream, bring your awareness back to your breath, focus your awareness at the center of your head or just between your eyes. Do not hold tension; instead, be in complete relaxation. Now, can you look to see who is aware? What or who is You?

From my Experience
My morning routine combines the above with multiple Swara Yogic breaths corresponding to each energy center. Each breath rises energy from the base of my spine upwards, touching each center as it climbs. Moving this energy above the heart as high as the seventh energy center is my goal, and the more I can move up, the more bliss, ecstasy, visual, and dimensional experiences I will open.
Devotion of the Heart
During the waxing to the full moon, when the energy of the spine reaches the heart, an incredible wellspring of love and acceptance can well up into the mind, and the Deity, Guru, or Mentor who guides you will become present within and around you.
You may become incredibly hot, but it is healing and transformative, so keep your heart open and receive and rejoice in this connection.
A Void Opening the Voice
During the waning to the new moon, when this central energy up the spine rises to the level of the throat, your consciousness may at once infinitely expand; a tremendous unending void or abyss will surround you. It may sound like thunder or deafening silence, and you become aware of a presence without a source.
Don’t be alarmed; you mind my coil, but know the dark presence is your Eternal Self.
An Explosion of Light & Love
When this energy moves up with the heart’s devotion further up the spine, it expands and connects through the void in the throat with all the World around you.
Then, moving upward to the center of your head, this energy will meet a light shining from above as glorious gold-white bright and illuminating light. Resonating with love and a welcoming embrace, this illumination from above is full of the love of devotion and a connection with all life around you.
A fireworks display of pulsating and flashing lights will burst before your inner vision. Not at all imaginary, but as natural as any sight you have ever seen.
Samadhi: Bliss of the No-One
Suppose you have the motivation to expand the energy in the spine even higher, out the top of your head. In that case, all sense of yourself will vanish, everything will vanish, awareness and consciousness will rest in their most essential form, and you will perceive no time or space.
You will come back into alert consciousness after some time; maybe only a moment has passed that feels like an eternity or an hour that feels like a second.
Upon your return, you will have changed, transformed, transmuted, burnt, and are oriented backward to what was before. Life will no longer be an illusion of a dreamer as you have become awakened.
No longer will the World be divided into two, an outside and an inside, but as a single unimaginable unity of Divine Presence.
In truth, the separate self is the illusion of the mind, the observer, and the observed; you have clarity when this separation is closed, and all is one.
Even More Benefits
With time, you will significantly benefit from these practices. After just a couple of weeks, you will notice point one below, and with time, points two to ten will become known. Known, not imagined! Do not get trapped in the web of the mind and the lies of the imagination. Only experience counts!
An increase in your energy levels, greater vitality, and better endurance.
Increased energy leads to wellness with fewer illnesses and quicker recovery when sick.
More emotional balance: a quieter mind with fewer thoughts and emotions that take you out of balance
More vibrant senses, colors, sounds, and smells take on a new vibrance
Your ability to focus and observe becomes sharper and more discerning without judgment and labeling of what you’re observing.
You will gain a perception of your subtle energies or Prana, the sensation of each of your Chakras, and primary energy pathways.
With this perception, you also perceive each of these centers’ subtle body and energy dimensions.
With practice, you can build each of these subtle bodies with the energy from food, Sun, water, and air.
Beings from other dimensions will contact you and you with them.
The World will collapse into a single reality, and you will end the illusion of being a “separate” being from the Godhead.
